The Future

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything over here – life has been very busy! March 7, 2016, we welcomed our third little boy, Joshua Gray. He is an absolute joy and we are settling into the rhythm of having three children nicely. It honestly has been an easier transition to go from two children to three than it was to go from one child to two…it may be because there’s less space between our second and third, so we didn’t feel like we were completely starting over. Either way, it’s been an absolutely wonderful six months with this sweet little guy in our lives!

I have been on maternity leave since January and it has been wonderful being at home with our family on the weekends, spending time with my husband in the evening after the kids go to bed (when I’d normally be editing) and “just” being a stay at home mom. My husband and I have felt God nudging us to have me take a step back from photography for a couple of years, but we have put it off for a variety of reasons, the main one being that it just doesn’t make “sense.” Well, we’ve since realized that sometimes, the things God calls you to just don’t make a lot of sense by the world’s standards! After lots and lots of prayer, I have decided to extend my maternity leave permanently and close down Libby Ann Photography. God has really shown us what a blessing this will be for our family and has faithfully been providing for us without my income.

I will definitely miss my business…it is not easy to walk away from something I’ve spent over seven years pouring myself into! But the thing I will miss the most is my clients. I have been so blessed to work with some of the most incredible families in the Austin area. It has been a joy to meet new families and help capture memories for you all! There are so many of you that started out as clients and have turned into wonderful friends after seven years of photographing your families. I can’t thank you enough for trusting me with your sessions each year and allowing me to develop a bond with your families. Those relationships are so special to me and I will cherish them forever.

At the same time, I am incredibly excited to see where God leads our family. I know He has great things in store for us and I pray that I am able to glorify Him with my life on Earth. I am going to keep my website around and hopefully start blogging regularly about what we’re up to…no promises, because three kids is a little crazy, y’all…but I’d love to keep this page up to date with our adventures.

Thank you so much for the last seven years. These have been some of the greatest of my life and I am so, so thankful to each and every one of my clients for making my business possible! If you’re not already, I’d love to have you follow me on Instagram (@libbyann822) so I can follow you back and keep up with your families and your adventures!

Alejandra Rodriguez - Congratulations on your new chapter as “only” stay at home mom. Enjoys your babies and your husband. I am very thankful for the wonderful moments you captured for us and wish you all the happiness and best luck in all your adventures!

Exciting News + 2016 Scheduling

This may not come as a surprise to you, especially if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, but we are expecting baby boy #3 in March! We are thrilled to welcome home another little boy and our other two boys are excitedly preparing for their little brother…well, Will is, anyway. Jack kind of has no clue what’s going on, but I’m sure he’ll figure it out come March!  😉

We’ve settled on a name (Joshua Gray), a nursery theme (mountain woodlands), and are starting to get all the things that go along with a newborn baby prepared: washing tiny baby clothes, prepping newborn sized cloth diapers, getting the infant car seat out of storage and cleaned up, buying all the odds and ends you need with each child, etc. etc. etc. I swear each time I check off an item on my to-do list, I add two more! Along with the preparation for Baby Joshua has come a lot of talk about what 2016 will look like with Libby Ann Photography. Which brings me to…

2016 Scheduling
I will not be taking on any sessions for 2016 (aside from those already scheduled). I will be taking the year off to adjust to being a family of five (that sounds crazy!) and really enjoy the baby phase with our third little boy. I’ll still be posting (a lot!) over on Instagram and Facebook and I’m going to attempt to be better at blogging our daily lives over here (though I make no promises). But as far as clients go, I will not be accepting any new bookings.

If you are in need of a family or newborn photographer, I would highly recommend you contact Lyndsay Stradtner with Life in Motion Photography. She is a great friend of mine and I trust her with our photographs…she will be photographing baby Joshua, just like she has both of our other boys andI will definitely be sharing those over here.

Thank you all for such a fantastic 2015! I am so thrilled to see what 2016 brings us 🙂

Fourth of July Tiny Sessions

I love all things patriotic. Celebrating the Fourth of July is always one of my favorite times of the year, despite the heat! This year, I wanted to try something new with my clients and offer tiny sessions…what are these? 5-minute photo slots where you bring your kids out for a themed photo session. Sign ups take place ahead of time, so you know exactly when to show up and do not have to wait in a big line. They’re super fun and include a minimal amount of stress!!

Date: June 20th from 7:30am – 11:00am
Cost: $25 for the first child, $10 for each additional child
Location: Round Rock Memorial Park (600 N. Lee Street, Round Rock, TX 78664)
What’s Included: A 5-minute photo session (per child) with 4th of July themed props and at least 1 high resolution digital file per child delivered via Dropbox

**Pictures will be delivered by July 1, 2015 at the latest**

Sign-ups will take place on Thursday, June 11th at 6:00am via Sign-Up Genius. If you haven’t used it before, it’s very easy to use. Once I post the link to the sign-ups, you’ll select the appropriate amount of slots for your number of children and sign up using your email address. If you have three children, you would sign up for three 5-minute slots. If a sibling shot is desired, let me know the day of the session so we can make sure to leave a few minutes at the end of your time for it. At the end of the day Thursday, I will finalize the sign-ups, delete extras, and invoice you for the slots you signed up for via Square. It sounds confusing, but I promise it’s simple!

The day of the session, I will have model releases available for you to sign if you desire, just in case I post some sneak peeks on Facebook before images are delivered!

I will post the link for the sign-ups both here on my blog AND on my Facebook page promptly at 6:00am on Thursday. If you cannot be available for the sign-ups for whatever reason, you’re welcome to have a friend sign up for you. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at

Austin Newborn Photographer {Claire | 3 days}

newborn baby girl posed in a basket outside in tall grass

Claire’s mama, Heather, is a long time friend of mine. We go way back to the youth group, summer camp days of middle school and high school. I was so, so excited when I learned that she was expecting a new little one and even more excited when she asked me to photograph her beautiful baby girl! I met precious Claire on her 3rd day of life and we got some of the most amazing newborn shots at sunset. There’s something about a tiny new baby outside in nature that is calming and absolutely perfect. We followed up her outdoor shoot with more posed shots inside on the blankets.

She was a dream to photograph – only fussed a few times and even opened her eyes up at the end for her close-up! 🙂 Heather and Clay, thank you so much for trusting me with your baby girl’s first photo shoot! She is beautiful!!

Austin Baby Photographer {Austin | 8 months}

I met Austin and his family in October for some baby photos. He was the easiest baby to photograph – so full of big huge grins with big, beautiful brown eyes! It was so fun to hang out with them and get to photograph this little cutie. Callie and John, I hope you guys are enjoying your images! It was wonderful to meet you.

Austin Child Photographer | Emma {age 2}

Little girl standing in a field backlit by the sun in Austin, Texas

I’ve been photographing Emma since she was a teeny newborn, all snuggly and squishy. One of my favorite parts of the year is her annual photoshoot. Seeing her family is like seeing old friends; it doesn’t even feel like I’m working – just catching up since we live on opposite sides of the planet – I mean, Austin. 😉 We had big plans for her two-year-old photo shoot and Emma’s mama did not disappoint…who can resist adorable teeny cowboy boots and pink converse? Well, apparently, Emma can. She wasn’t too thrilled about her outfit change, but I have to confess, the crying picture is a secret favorite of mine!

Afton and Jon, it was so wonderful to see your sweet family this year! I hope you guys are enjoying your images!
