Will’s finally rounding the corner and I think he’s starting to get better…it’s been rough around here, though! He’s got an ear infection (on Amoxicilin to clear it up) and has been running a fever for nearly two weeks straight. We went back to the pediatrician again yesterday and she really couldn’t find anything visibly wrong with him – ears look good, chest sounds good…he’s just running an unexplained fever. She said that if it didn’t break by Wednesday we’d need to bring him back in for testing to figure out what’s going on. :( Poor baby! I’ve been praying that it wouldn’t come to that – I don’t want to subject him to chest x-rays, bloodwork, urine cultures, etc. if I don’t have to. Thankfully, the fever broke tonight and I’m hoping he’s on the mend!

Surprisingly, though, the fever hasn’t done a thing to slow him down – he’s acting like his normal, happy-go-lucky self! We took a nap together this afternoon (because someone kept me up in the middle of the night a little too long!) and it was so nice to snuggle with him. I can’t say it enough – I am SO thankful that my husband is the loving, understanding man he is and knew that I needed to stay home with my baby. It’s looking like I’m going to have to start watching a couple kids again come January, and while I’d rather not, it’s so much better than the alternative for us. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last three months of just Will and me time…he’s such a joy to be around :)

This morning he wolfed down a waffle, half of a pear, and a YoBaby Vanilla Yogurt. The kid can eat! I promise more pictures of him are coming soon…I just don’t feel right sticking the camera in his face when I know he’s not feeling well. I’ve got 8 month pictures to take that are looong overdue. Better late than never, right? Y’all aren’t going to believe how BIG he is! 20 lbs, 7 ounces at the doctor yesterday.

How is Christmas already next week? I haven’t done a dang thing either. Will is the only person who has all of his presents taken care of. Looks like I’ll be doing some last minute shopping next week! For some reason it doesn’t really feel like Christmas right now. Maybe it’s the lack of present-wrapping and Christmas preparations that have been going on around here…I’m not sure! But I’m going to have to spend some time with Christmas carols on this next week!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful week and are much further along in your Christmas preparations than I am!
