This morning I got to meet little Ethan. At just 5 days old, he was so sleepy and so, so strong! I couldn’t believe how strong his neck and arms were when I was trying to pose him :) I had so much fun getting to talk with his family and watching his parents and grandparents love all over him. I have the best job!!

Well, love and candy :)

This morning I met up with my friend Shelby and her gorgeous six month old little boy, Asher, in downtown Georgetown. We’d been wanting to get Valentine’s shots of our boys and of course catch up on chatting too! The weather was perfect for photography – I love Texas winters! Will was only cooperative for the first 10 minutes of our shoot, but Asher was the perfect 6 month old model and put up with me and my camera for nearly an hour before naptime came :)

Will had to be bribed into taking pictures with candy hearts. The kid loves sugar. I’m sure I’m 100% to blame for that too – I have a sweet tooth like none other! As long as I was giving him a steady stream of candy hearts, he was a pretty happy camper ;)

Asher, on the other hand, was content just to have me squeaking Sophie in his face constantly. Oh, the simplicity of being six-months-old! That is definitely my favorite age to photograph…smiles are usually pretty easy to come by and they can’t run from me just yet!

Stay tuned for part two of this Valentine’s Day shoot…we’ve got plans to go back out next week and attempt to finish!

Molly and her mommy drove all the way up to my house in Round Rock from their South Austin home for her newborn session this morning! I was a little nervous for her session because at 17 days, she’s slightly older than I typically like for my newborns to be, but she was an absolute rockstar! She gave me about 10 frames of smiles and she passed out anytime she had warm air blowing on her.

I promised myself I was going to cut back on sneak peeks in 2011. But look at this sweet face! There was no way I could narrow it down anymore tonight :) Gloria, thank you so much for letting little Molly model for me. She was a dream and it was so nice to finally meet you! Enjoy your sneak peek!

My winter break is quickly coming to an end and I’ll get back into the swing of things with two sessions this weekend. I’m working on my winter newsletter today, but decided to take a little break and share some recent news and pictures from my family!

We’ve had a fantastic winter…Christmas was so much fun, especially now that Will is understanding it more. We loved watching him open all his gifts and give a little gasp when he saw what was inside the packaging. His favorite gifts, above all, were the train table Santa brought him, train sets from both of his grandparents, and Thomas the Train engines from my parents. He is absolutely in love with trains right now – it’s so fun to see him get so into an activity!

Our New Year’s was low key and we spent it taking down Christmas decorations and hanging out at home. One of my resolutions was to take more pictures of my family and I’ve been doing great at that! I’ve been attempting to do a photo a day type project, but I’m not beating myself up about missed days :) Last week I put Will in a tub full of bubbles and had a little “photo shoot” with him. I adore all the photos and have plans to get some printed big to hang above the tub in our bathroom. There are more on my personal blog, but here are a few favorites:

In other news, I’m in full swing for marathon training…oh what? I didn’t mention that over here? Oops! Early in December I signed up for the 2011 Austin Marathon. I’ve been wanting to run a marathon for a long, long time. I blogged about it on my personal blog back in October. But I never actually pulled the trigger. One night I sat down at my computer and realized that if I didn’t sign up for it right that very second, I wasn’t going to do it. And if I didn’t do it this year, I may never do it. So I did. I got my marathon shirt in the mail a few weeks ago, ran 16 miles last Saturday and am scheduled to run 18 this weekend. I’m kind of wondering what in the world possessed me to want to run a marathon in the first place, but I know once I finish I’ll be glad I did. Something to check off my bucket list and all :)

So that pretty much sums it up. Family is good. God is good. Life is good. :)

PS – Newsletter subscribers, you should have a note coming to you very soon! Valentine’s Day mini-session specials are being announced to you first and they’re sure to be tons of fun!

I am completely blown away by all the entries to this contest…you guys are so awesome! After adding in all the extra entries from people booking sessions, there ended up being 179 entries total…crazy!! Then there was the issue of figuring out how to draw a winner. My printer was on the fritz this afternoon, so I ended up inputting all the entries into Excel in the order they were entered, adding in the extra entries in the order they came in, and then drawing a random winner using www.randomizer.org.

Before we move onto the winner, I want to let everyone know about a very neat special that I’ll be running through the next week. Because I wish that I could give away sessions to everyone who entered, I want to offer a special to make custom photography a bit more affordable for everyone. That was one theme that ran through the comments – you wish you could, but you just don’t have the money right now. Believe me, I understand about financial hardships! :)

Very exciting, huh?! Your session can be anytime in 2011, but it must be booked before January 8th. Choose any one of the incentives – and trust me, the surprise is one you’re going to LOVE! :) If you’re interested, send me an email at libbyann@gmail.com. In the end, though, there could only be one winner…which I know you’re all anxious to hear about!

and commenter #110 is….

CONGRATULATIONS, Amanda!! Please email me at libbyann@gmail.com to claim your session! Thank you all for entering and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
