Zilker Park pictures

I started personal training with Ashley back in August and I’m pretty sure I started bugging her to let me take pictures of her and her husband shortly after that. Since then we’ve become workout partners and good friends and last month she finally agreed to let me take them out and do pictures! We spent all week going back and forth on what they were going to wear and I’m pretty sure I told Ashley one morning while we were working out (incredibly early) that I was excited to take their pictures so I could boss her around for once. ;) Ashley helped me out at Erin’s session Saturday morning and was talking about how glad she wasn’t having to cheese it up for the camera…I guess she forgot she was going out with me later that evening? haha! I had so much fun with them and was glad they went along with all my crazy ideas :) Although the image of them in the tree above is pretty much my favorite one from their entire session and that one was all Zach’s idea!

I got to meet these sweet little boys Saturday morning and we had a blast capturing their family pictures. They flew all the way from Germany just for a session with me…okay, well maybe not just for a session with me – I’m pretty sure there were a few family members they were excited about seeing too ;) We had a great time capturing some awesome pictures to document their family of four. The park we were shooting in was setting up for a Pioneer Festival, so 3 year old Jaiden got to explore all the neat Pioneer artifacts…he was thoroughly impressed! Thank you so much for letting me take your family photos! I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek!

Erin has been training for a figure competition coming up in May and I had the chance to photograph her yesterday at Wild Basin Fitness. Doesn’t she look amazing?! I loved working with her – someone who actually listens and takes direction instead of my normal models who make me chase them around! I have so many favorites from her session – I’ll probably have to come back and share more later this week. Thanks so much, Erin!

We started the silly bluebonnet tradition last year, and have continued it this year. I finally found a halfway decent field to shoot in, even though it had big buildings in the background one way and bright red “NO PARKING – FIRE LANE” curbs in the other direction. In the end, it didn’t matter all that much what the background looked like – my child was being a whole lot less than cooperative ;) Peanut Butter M&Ms weren’t even a good enough bribe to get him to sit still for more than 2.5 seconds. We had to get mean at the very end and tell him that his Grandpa was coming…we got some big, good smiles from that, haha!

Anway, here’s a few of my favorite shots from my big, TWO year old boy! I know I haven’t shared enough pictures of him recently (or taken enough, for that matter), so I love love love these :)

Just in case you didn’t know, he’s fast. Fast, fast, fast…and in the second picture? That squished blue thing in his hand? Yeah, that’s a bluebonnet ;)

I get this expression a lot. I think he’s humoring me ;)

I absolutely adore his fascination with the bluebonnet in this series of pictures. Such a two-year-old thing to do! :)

Sweet boy. I love him!!

Sam’s mom and my mom used to work together several years ago. Somehow she remembered that I was a photographer and contacted me about taking Sam’s senior pictures. I’m so glad she did because I had a fantastic time walking around the park yesterday chatting with them and capturing some great shots for them to remember Sam’s senior year by! Sam plays baseball for his high school (and my brother did too), so we had lots in common and lots of things to talk about!

Jill and Sam, it was so great to meet you guys yesterday! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

The last of my mini sessions yesterday was the A family. I’ve known them for quite awhile and have been photographing them for a long time too! I always love seeing their adorable kiddos, and yesterday was no exception. They’ve added a new addition since I photographed them last – sweet little Kaedence. Wrangling three kids and trying to get a decent portrait is no easy task, but thankfully we were able to get quite a few in the time I was with them yesterday!

Stevie and Sean, I’m so glad you let me photograph your beautiful family again! Enjoy your sneak peek!!

The second of my mini sessions yesterday was with the H family. They go to the same church as I do and I’ve really been looking forward to photographing their family! Their boys, Zackery and Jackson were brothers in the truest sense – constantly picking on each other and having fun with each other. It totally makes me want our second child to be a boy seeing the way they’d interact together!

James and Heidi, it was great to see you guys yesterday. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!!

I held mini sessions this morning, so stay tuned for lots of blogging to do in the next couple days! First up was the M family with gorgeous Miss Taylor. She has the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen…and I’m pretty sure I commented on them at least 50 times in the 20 minutes we were together this morning! She’s just learning to perfect her sitting, so mom and dad had to do a lot of spotting during the session. It paid off though, because we got one of the most adorable smiling pictures ever!

Jake and Christy, it was great to meet you guys this morning! I’m sorry the bluebonnets didn’t cooperate, but I’m glad you guys found a small patch on your way home from the session!! :) Enjoy your sneak peek!

See what I mean? Best smiling picture ever! :)
