November 27, 2009

I can’t believe how much Dax has grown in six months! It seriously seems like just yesterday that I was cuddling this tiny 5lb little newborn and look at him now. So cute and chunky and precious! He still has all his fabulous hair – looove it! Here he was six months ago:

And now…just look at him! So, so, so adorable. He started our session out very serious, but by the end we’d gotten quite a few little smiles out of him!

Thankful

November 26, 2009

It’s been an awesome day…Will’s first Thanksgiving! I can’t believe he’s nearly 8 months old – time flies. I feel so full and blessed today :) Even though I didn’t take a single picture all day long (I left that task up to my mom!), I still felt the need to come on over here and write down a few of the things I’m thankful for.

10. I’m thankful for our house. I love our house and I love that we have a place to decorate, paint, and call our own. It’s been so nice to live here and I’m so glad we found it.

9. I’m thankful for my amazing clients. I’ve been SO blessed to work for some awesome people this year! It’s been so fun to meet all these fabulous new (and beautiful) people.

8. I’m thankful for John Strognofe. He invented the first practical camera and if he hadn’t come along, my life would be vastly different than it is now! I’m so thankful that I have the ability to take priceless pictures of my family and that I am able to give the gift of photography to so many people!

7. I’m thankful for our church. A year ago, the church we were attending closed it’s doors and I didn’t ever think I’d be able to find a place where I felt like I belonged like that again. We “church shopped” a bit but I was huge and pregnant and we never really got into it. When we were in the hospital right after I’d had Will, our (now) pastor came to visit us in the hospital. I think my mom may have put him up to it, but I can’t be sure ;) We’d never met him before, but he prayed over Will and just made us feel so welcomed. I’m so thankful that he chased after us and brought us back to the place where we belonged. I’m excited to go to church every weekend. I love our small group. I love the relationships we’re making…it’s such an awesome place!

6. I’m thankful for my friends. Greg and I have some wonderful friends…the kind of friends that stick with you through thick and thin. The kind of friends that you can be away from for months and pick back up like nothing’s changed. I’m so thankful for our “people” and that we get to share life with them.

5.  I’m thankful for my little brother. He turned 21 yesterday (Happy birthday, Matt!) and he’s grown into such an amazing person. Sorry for giving you such a hard time throughout middle school and high school ;) I’m glad we’re friends again now!

4. I’m thankful that my husband works incredibly hard every week at work so I can stay home with my sweet baby boy. Sometimes I feel so selfish that he has to work everyday while I get to stay here (not that taking care of Will isn’t work!), but I’m so, so thankful for him and that he wants me to stay at home as much as I do :)

3.  I’m thankful for my parents. I’ve always known that I’m lucky to call my parents mine, but I’m really feeling that lately…they’re an awesome support system, amazing babysitters, wonderful role-models, and just all around great people. I’m so thankful we live near them and that I get to see them every week.

2. I’m thankful for Greg and Will. I can’t imagine what my life would be like right now without my two guys. It’d be boring, that’s for sure! They keep me on my toes, they keep me laughing, and they challenge me to be a better person every day. Life with these two is amazing and I love love love my two men!

1. I’m thankful that my God is BIG! God has moved in my life over the past year SO much. He’s blessed me more than I could have ever imagined – from my photography, to our house, to our church, to daily little things. I’m so thankful for Him and the gift of salvation.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! :)

I usually don’t get into Black Friday. Like at all. I hate crowds while I’m shopping…I’m so not good at standing in line, even if it means I get a heck of a good deal. But I know a lot of people loooove Black Friday and love good deals. So I’ve decided to jump on the bandwagon!

Check back early Friday morning for a special Black Friday deal!

Caroline’s family and I finally got to meet up today after several weeks of one of us being sick. It was a super chilly morning in Kyle, but it was gorgeous out and we got some great pictures! Miss Caroline was very serious at first, but (luckily) she thinks her Daddy’s pretty hilarious and showed us her two front teeth a few times!

Stephanie and Mario, thanks for being so flexible and hanging out with me this morning. Have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy your sneak peeks!

I love this one of Caroline and her gorgeous Mama!

Oh man, this picture cracks me up. I can’t look at it without smiling! I’m almost done proofing this session, but I couldn’t finish up without posting this one. She was finding Dora’s house in my camera ;) Too stinkin’ cute!
