Austin Family Photographer {The B Family}

This fall was wonderful. It was busy, filled with clients that I love, unseasonably chilly, and just all around awesome. Things got busy and blogging fell to the side as I tried to keep up with the demands of running a full time business and keeping two little people alive! But it’s January now and though still busy, things aren’t as crazy as the fall. So look! I’m blogging! 🙂

They’re funny and silly and have such adorable personalities and little grins. It’s been such a blessing watching them grow and change, one I hope to do for many years to come!

Austin Photography Workshops | Another Everyday Joy Workshop Class!

Austin, Texas workshop on learning to use your DSLR camera.

The past two workshops I’ve held have been SO much fun. I’ve gotten great feedback from my workshop participants and have seen some of the pictures they’ve been creating since the class…from those alone I can tell you they’ve learned a lot! I’ve decided to hold another workshop in early December, in time for you to learn all the basics of your camera and taking pictures for Christmas! This class will cover:

  • The basics of using a DSLR and how to change your camera settings.
  • Producing technically correct images using camera settings of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
  • How to find good light and use it to your advantage in pictures.
  • How to achieve that “blurry background” look in your photos.
  • Composing an image so it catches the eye.
  • How to take creative pictures of your everyday life.

There will be a “hands-on” component during the class where you get to practice the skills you’ve just learned and put everything together. I’ll walk each participant through setting up their images, give constructive feedback on the images you’re taking, and help you improve while you’re shooting. I’ll also help troubleshoot any camera issues you may be having and help you figure out how to control all the settings on your individual camera. All workshop participants will receive a detailed workbook outlining what was taught in the class.

This workshop will take place December 7, 2014 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Cost is $125; workbook and light refreshments are included. Space is limited and the last two classes sold out in hours, so if you’re interested please email Libby ASAP!

Austin Family Photographer | Fall Mini Sessions

My first weekend back to work after my knee injury fell on the weekend of my fall mini sessions. It was a busy day filled with 8 families, lots of sweet kiddos and lots of fun! All of my mini sessions this year were for returning clients and I absolutely loved the chance to see how those little ones had grown and changed since our last visit! Here’s a peek into several of my sessions from the day…I tried not to post family pictures so I don’t spoil any Christmas Card surprises! 🙂 Enjoy!

Austin Newborn Photographer | Garrett {5 days}

I’ve been looking forward to Garrett’s session since his mama contacted me early in her pregnancy. I photographed her pregnancy and older son, Wyatt, when he was born and was so excited to meet Mr. Garrett! They kept his gender a surprise and found out at his birth that they were welcoming another sweet little boy into their family 🙂

Unfortunately, my knee injury kept me from actually meeting Garrett. My amazingly wonderful friend, Lyndsay with Life in Motion Photography went for me and got to snuggle this precious little guy. It was so much fun to ‘meet’ him in photos and I’m hoping that sometime soon I’ll get to meet him in person too! Congratulations on your new precious boy, Courtney and Max! He is too handsome!

Austin Newborn Photographer | Paisley {12 days}

Those of you who follow me on Facebook may have seen that I injured my knee in late August, right before my busy season started. It completely took me out of work for five weeks and I’m slowly getting back into things. It’s still sore, but I’m finally able to get back to work, which is nice!

I couldn’t have made everything work during that time without the help of a great friend and wonderful photographer, Lyndsay from Life in Motion Photography. Lyndsay took photos for several of my clients and passed the files over to me to edit. It was so much fun to collaborate with her on these sessions and she seriously saved me! Thank you so, so much Lyndsay 🙂 One of the cuties she got to meet was Miss Paisley. I absolutely adore all these shots, but especially the ones of her on the gold chair. Just gorgeous!! I took pictures for big brother Easton a couple years ago when he was born – it’s always so much fun to see my littlest clients turn into awesome big brothers and sisters!

Beach Fun | Austin Family Photographer

I’ve been photographing the E family for quite some time and was absolutely thrilled when they invited us down to Port Aransas for some beach time and some fun pictures! We had such an awesome weekend playing at the beach and got some awesome (very very early morning) pictures of their whole crew. I think my favorites are the ones of precious Lily twirling and dancing away in the ocean. Lucky kiddos – they’re going to have some wonderful childhood memories made in this place!

Austin Family Photographer | Fall Calendar Update

It’s been so busy over here – LOTS of newborns coming across my screen, which I absolutely love. The fall season is fully booked for newborns and just about fully booked for everything else, so I wanted to give a quick calendar update in case anyone is still looking at scheduling a session.

August: Fully Booked
September:
1 signature session & 1 fall mini session open
October: 1 simple session open
November: 1 signature session & 1 simple session open

If you’re interested in securing any of those spots, please email me ASAP!  🙂   I will also be out of the office from 7/18-7/20. We’re celebrating my sweet Jack as he turns ONE and I want to make sure I’m totally unplugged so I can soak in this special time in my baby boy’s life. If you email me during those times, I’ll make sure to get back to you first thing Monday morning.

Hope you’re all enjoying your summer!

Austin Family Photographer | 2014 Fall Mini Sessions

Fall Mini Photography Sessions by Libby Ann Photography

Fall mini sessions are back this year! They will be held September 27, 2014 in Round Rock (exact location TBD) in both the morning and the evening. Included in your session fee are:

• 20 minute session for up to 5 immediate family members
• a fully edited online gallery of 12 images (+ black and white conversions)
• your favorite 5 images uploaded to DropBox in high resolution, JPEG form for downloading and personal use
• a print release allowing you print your chosen images as desired
• 25 customized holiday cards and envelopes

Additional digital images and holiday cards are available for purchase after your session as well as my full line of boutique products. Spaces are limited, so if you wish to reserve a session, please do so soon!

I am also officially opened for fall booking! As I announced earlier this year, this fall, things will look a bit different.  My oldest starts Kindergarten at the end of August and it’s going to be a big transition for our family going from him staying home with me to being in school full time. I’m so excited for him; he’s more than ready for this new step in his life and I want to make sure I’m there with him for all of it. For my business, this means that I’ll be taking more weekends off each month and accepting less sessions in general this fall. I will most likely not be able to accommodate last minute bookings like I have in years past. So if you’re at all interested in booking a session, please do so sooner rather than later.  🙂
